Trixiadhel Loomweaving

Trixiadhel Loomweaving is an organised community of weavers in Abra that practice the art of weaving to provide additional source of income for the women in the community. Formed in 2014, Trixiadhel is composed of 15 weavers with both female and male members. They all learned how to weave from their parents. Weaving has always been a family affair to the members of the community. Almost everybody knows how to weave even with just a simple pattern, or is taught how to weave by their mother, father, husband, wife, brother, or sister. Weaving, to the members of the Trixiadhel Loomweaving, is not just a source of livelihood but also part of their daily lives and culture.
